Data preparation

 
    For the data preparation we developed a special tool for Mac and Windows: on-hand connect. On-hand connect was designed to assist you in the use of on-hand viewer and on-hand viewer XL. It provides functions to convert files into the on-hand viewer and on-hand viewer XL format and to transfer these files to the iPhone / iPod touch or iPad.
 

The possible input formats are VRML 2.0, JT and 3DXML (exported as "XML tesselation").
On-hand connect converts the different file types in a format which on-hand viewer / on-hand viewer XL is able to handle.

This format generates very compressed data which could be transferred quickly. Additionally there are previews created.
To transfer the files to the device on-hand connect provides a simple FTP client to upload files to a (own) FTP server from which they can be downloaded by the apps. Additionally it provides a Bonjour client to transfer files to the Bonjour server integrated in the apps. Download on-hand connect here.
